Junet Mohamed, the Suna East Member of Parliament and ODM Director of Elections, is being sought by the police.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Homa Bay, launched a manhunt for the parliamentarian after he skipped court summonses.

According to a report by Daily Nation on Thursday, December 21, Mohamed was being sought for uttering inflammatory, ethnic contempt statements at a rally called by the ODM party in Homa in July 2017.
CID officer Patrick Kibowen, on behalf of the Homa Bay DCI Director Joseph Tuksho, told Senior Principal Magistrate Susan Ndegwa that they had no idea Mohamed was being sought after the court issued a warrant of arrest for the opposition legislator.

"We ask for more time to enable us to arrest Junet Mohamed," added Tuksho.

He was charged uttering words that contravened the National Cohesion and Integrity Act and released on a KSh 100,000 cash bail or a bond of KSh 500,000 with instructions to appear in court on October 24. He did not show up..

The case is set to be mentioned on January 11, 2018.
